AP Physics C is the first course where the calculus is not decoration. In AP Physics 1 you memorise that the area under a velocity-time graph is displacement. Here you write down the integral, and the moment that swap becomes natural is the moment the whole subject gets simpler rather than harder.
Sixteen students. Two live sessions a week for fifteen weeks. Everything derived on the board, nothing quoted.
Ten minutes: a problem from last session, solved at the board by a student, questioned by the rest
Thirty-five minutes: new material, derived rather than stated, with the calculus written out in full
Twenty minutes: guided problem solving, everyone working simultaneously with cameras on the page rather than the face
Fifteen minutes: one hard problem, attempted cold, discussed afterwards whether or not anyone got it
Every student presents at least four times over the fifteen weeks. Not a polished solution — a live attempt, with the cohort allowed to interrupt. It is the most uncomfortable feature of this batch and it is not negotiable, because being able to defend a derivation is a completely different skill from being able to produce one alone.
Because at sixteen I can see every page, every session, and I know within a week which of you is quietly lost. At thirty I cannot, and the students who need noticing are precisely the ones who will not say so.
Thirty live sessions of ninety minutes, recorded and posted within two hours
A weekly problem set of eight to twelve problems, hand-marked by me with written comments
Four timed section tests in AP format
Two full mock exams under exam conditions, in December
A derivation notebook — every result in the course, derived, as a single reference document
Fortnightly fifteen-minute one-to-one calls
Payable in four monthly instalments at no extra cost, running from enrolment through to December. The full amount can also be paid at once; there is no discount for doing so, and no penalty for not.
Enrolment closes 5 September, three days before the first session. Sixteen seats, and this cohort has filled before the deadline in each of the last two runs.
